The Exorcism - A Drabble by Amber Willis
“Remember, whatever shape it takes, that’s not its true form. It’s pure evil and must be destroyed by any means.”
We entered the doorway. It sat in the corner quivering and turned its tear-soaked face to me. I started into the eyes of my son.
“In the name of the Father and of the Son…” a voice beside me boomed. I ran forward, my hand tightening around the handle and remembering the priest’s words. I plunged the blade into the thing’s chest repeatedly.
“No!” The priest screeched, turning from the growling demon climbing the wall. Crimson covered my dying son.
